Applied Nutrition Amino Fuel EAA tub beside the headline EAA or BCAA

EAA ولا BCAA؟ أيهما يستاهل فلوسك — الإمارات 2026

الإجابة باختصار

EAAs are the better buy. BCAAs supply only three of the nine essential amino acids, so they can signal muscle growth but cannot supply the materials for it. EAAs supply all nine. But if you already eat around 1.6 grams of protein per kilogram of bodyweight a day, neither adds much.

أسئلة شائعة

Are EAAs better than BCAAs?
Yes, if you are choosing between the two. BCAAs contain three of the nine essential amino acids, and muscle needs all nine to build new protein. BCAAs alone raised muscle protein synthesis by about 22 percent over placebo in a 2017 study — a real but limited effect.
Do I need EAAs if I already take whey protein?
Usually not. Whey already contains all nine essential amino acids, with roughly 2 to 3 grams of leucine in a 25-gram serving. If your daily protein is adequate, an EAA drink adds little on top.
When should I take EAAs?
Around training or between meals. Timing matters far less than total daily protein. EAAs are most useful when you train fasted, have a low-protein day, follow a plant-based diet, or cannot tolerate dairy.
Do BCAAs reduce muscle soreness?
Possibly a little, under narrow conditions. A 2017 systematic review found an effect mainly with high daily doses taken for more than 10 days and before exercise. One scoop during a single session is unlikely to change how sore you feel.
Do amino acid drinks break the fast in Ramadan?
Yes. Amino acids are protein and provide calories, so take them only between iftar and suhoor. A protein-rich suhoor does more for your training than any amino drink.
